Mrs. Hana Arslan

Mrs. Hana Arslan has been with Amana since its opening in 2005. She helped develop the Arabic curriculum, created Arabic materials, and interactive, hands-on activities that target the diversity of students' needs and levels at Amana. Mrs. Hana has a BA in Early Childhood Education and a certification in Elementary Education from the American University of Beirut. She has 6 years of teaching French. Her BA and teaching certification were recognized by the Professional Standards Commission in GA after courses in Education at Perimeter College. She has a Montessori certification in primary level from the International Montessori society in Maryland. She successfully completed the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages Writing and Speaking Proficiency Tests in Arabic. She participated and presented "Arabic at Amana" in National conferences and workshops. Also, Hana had the chance to attend Concordia Language Village in Bemidji,and was awarded a certificate for a successful completion of Startalk Arabic Teachers Designing Pathway to proficiency Grades K-16. Also, Mrs. Arslan attended a 5 days workshop in NJ related to Responsive classrooms.
Mrs. Joumana Haddad (Mrs. JJ)

Mrs. Joumana Haddad has been with Amana Academy since 2014. She is a Heritage speaker from Beirut Lebanon, and French and Arabic are her native languages. Mrs. Haddad graduated from the American University of Beirut with a B.A. in Psychology and a certification in Education. When she moved to Atlanta GA, she pursued her education and enrolled in the Masters Program in French language. She is also certified by the GACE (Georgia Assessment for the Certification of Educators) to instruct the French Language. In addition, she has the OPT and WPT certification to teach Arabic. This certificate is awarded by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. In 2015, she obtained her certification as a Professional Interpreter in Education from the University of Georgia in English, French and Arabic. Mrs. Haddad is the school's BCL (bilingual community liaison for our ELL parents), and she teaches Arabic and French at the middle school.
Mrs. Rula Edilbi

Mrs. Rula Edilbi graduated from the University of Jordan in Amman with a degree in Educational sciences, majoring in Teaching English As A Second language. When she came to the U.S in 2000, she completed the Montessori Certificate in primary level and worked in a Montessori school for two years until Amana Academy opened in 2005. Ms. Rula joined Amana Academy where she built and based her teaching method on hands-on learning approach, students’ differentiation classroom centers, and students’ motivation.
Through her teaching career for the past twelve years, she spent 7 of them at Amana Academy. She developed an Arabic curriculum along with games and teaching tools that made students love the Arabic language and increase the level of participation in the classroom. She also attended lot of conferences and workshops to stay up to date with any new idea or method for teaching foreign languages.
