Who is a parent liaison, and what services does the school offer?

​

A Parent Liaison serves as a link between the schools and parents, relay the needs of one to the other; educate teachers and staff on how to communicate and work effectively with parents as equal partners.

 

A Parent Liaison is a person employed by Amana Academy and Fulton County Schools. Although this person is not a counselor, they work to bridge the communication between school and home by helping parents get the information, support, and help they need to ensure their child’s academic and social success in school.  Parent Liaisons want to empower parents and make sure they that they understand what they can do to get involved, keep informed, and share information to ensure that their child does his or her best.

 

How can the Parent Liaison help me?

Sometimes it may be uncomfortable for parents to share questions or concerns directly with their child’s teacher or the administration. The Parent Liaison can listen to your concerns and then work with you to make sure they are resolved. Good communication between home and school is important for your child’s success, and your Parent Liaison want to make sure that you understand what you can do to keep the lines of communication open. The Parent Liaison provides you a private link and another connection to your child’s school.

What kind of assistance can the Parent Liaison provide?

A Parent Liaison can connect you with valuable resources available at your school. Your Parent Liaison can help you make connections with your school through:
 

  • Assisting with Parent/Teacher or Staff meetings

  • Back to School Nights

  • Kindergarten Orientation Meeting

  • Helping parents find opportunities to volunteer


Your Parent Liaison can connect you to important information regarding:
 

  • ESOL testing

  • Summer School

  • Special Education

  • After School Programs


Your Parent Liaison can connect you to support and resources in the event of a crisis situation (emotional, physical, and financial):

  • Food and clothing

  • Housing

  • Illness and Family Deaths

  • Attendance/Tardiness

  • Substance/Physical Abuse

  • Divorce and Separation, Changing Family situations

Mrs. Joumana Haddad is a Heritage speaker from Beirut Lebanon, and French and Arabic are her native languages. She graduated from the American University of Beirut with a B.A. in Psychology and a certification in Education. When she moved to Atlanta GA, she pursued her education and enrolled in the Masters Program in French language. She is also certified by the GACE (Georgia Assessment for the Certification of Educators) to instruct the French Language. In addition, she has the OPT and WPT certification to teach Arabic. This certificate is awarded by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. In 2015, she obtained her certification as a Professional Interpreter in Education from the University of Georgia in English, French and Arabic. Mrs. Haddad is back at Amana Academy as the school's BCL (bilingual community liaison), and Arabic and French teacher.

أهلاً وسَهلاً بكم في العام الدراسي الجديد 2024-2023 . أتمنى أن تكونوا قد استمتعتم بالعطلة الصيفية مع الأهل والأصدقاء. يسرني أنّني سأبدأ العام الدراسي الجديد سَوِيّاً وبنجاح خصوصاً بالعلاقة المميزة التي ستجمعني بكم.

سأواصل في العام الدراسي الجديد جهودي للتواصل معكم. سأحرص على الاستمرار بالاجتماعات الشهرية. كما سأقوم  باستمرار باطلاعكم على تطور ولدكم الأكاديمي وبالنشاطات المدرسية المتعددة. لهذا الرجاء الانتباه للأوراق المرسلة من قبل المدرسة لأهميتها- كالنشرات الشهرية والدعوات والتذكيرات الهامة وغيرها.

تواصلكم معي أيضا في غاية الأهمية لدي, لهذا اذا كانت لديكم أية أسئلة أو استفسارات الرجاء عدم التردد بطرحها علي أنا شخصيا وسيكون من دواعي سروري الاجابة عليها.

 ما يربط عادة نجاح الطالب هي العلاقة الجيدة بين المدرسة والعائلة والمجتمع. بناء وتعزيز هذه العلاقة الجيدة هو احد مهام خدمات التواصل في مدرسة أمانة أكادمي . مركز عاملة التواصل يوفر الترحيب والدعم اللازم لمتعلمي اللغة الإنجلزيزية وعائالتهم. السيدة جمانة حداد لا تقوم بدور الترجمة فقط بل هي أيضا قادمة من دولة مختلفة وعاشت التجربة ولها دراية بالمجتمع وبالعادات والتقاليد وبالتعليم في بلدها مما يجعلها قادرة على تفهّم احتياجاتكم

Nuestro Amana Academy de Enlace, Joumana Haddad, sirve como un enlace entre nuestras familias y nuestras escuelas. Ella facilita la comunicación familia-escuela, que permite a las familias a ser socios más activos en la educación de sus hijos.

La Sra Haddad trabaja en nuestra escuela y la comunidad para ayudar a las familias a obtener la información y la asistencia que necesitan para mantener a sus hijos en el hogar y para asegurar su éxito académico. La Sra Haddad representa una variedad de culturas, lenguas y razas, y es uno de los componentes en el esfuerzo de nuestra escuela para mejorar la participación familiar.
